On August 21, the 26th Pet Fair Asia kicked off at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. KEXCELLED, in collaboration with IN Pet Supplements, showcased its 3D-printed pet prosthesis project, “Running Again.” The project drew significant attention from visitors, who were eager to see the latest custom prosthesis solutions for pets.
⌈Let Your Beloved Pet Run Again⌉
“Let Your Beloved Pet Run Again” is a charity initiative launched by IN Pet Supplements, KEXCELLED’s Running Again brand, Dog Enlightenment Academy, and Great DOG. This project aims to provide custom prostheses for pets who have lost limbs, along with ongoing behavioral guidance and joint nutrition support, helping them reclaim their lives. In the first phase of the project, spanning over 170 days, we successfully crafted precise prostheses for four dogs, allowing them to run once more.
⌈Media Interviews⌉
At the event, KEXCELLED’s Marketing Manager Rena and IN Pet Supplements’ Marketing Director Chen Changyang gave media interviews about the “Let Your Beloved Pet Run Again” charity project, sharing insights into the project’s progress and future plans.
Rena explained the meaning behind “Running Again”: “We hope to use 3D printing technology to give disabled pets a chance to start anew, allowing them to run again.” Since the launch of the pet prosthesis brand “Running Again” in 2020, KEXCELLED, a leading global 3D printing material supplier, has helped nearly a hundred disabled pets with high-precision custom prostheses. Our collaboration with IN Pet Supplements, Dog Enlightenment Academy, and Great DOG has increased awareness among pet owners about the importance of prostheses for disabled dogs and aims to support more families with disabled pets.
Chen Changyang reflected on the project’s experiences: “We’ve learned about the challenging journeys of disabled pets, felt the hopes of their owners, and witnessed the various challenges during the adaptation to prostheses. The moment we saw the pets running again, we were deeply moved and reinforced our commitment to continue the ‘Let Your Beloved Pet Run Again’ project.”
⌈Case Stories⌉
With our expertise in 3D printing, KEXCELLED has harnessed the core advantages of personalized customization in this project. By utilizing various TPU materials with different hardness levels, we crafted bespoke prostheses for each disabled pet, demonstrating the exceptional potential of 3D printing in enhancing pets’ quality of life.
3D-Printed Full-Prosthesis Case: The Story of Yeshiqi
Yeshiqi, a dog whose leg was crushed by a vehicle, had its left leg amputated and right leg fractured. Fortunately, Yeshiqi found a loving family and was fitted with our 3D-printed full-prosthesis. This video documents Yeshiqi’s journey from rescue, amputation, and participation in the prosthesis project to successfully using the prosthesis and adapting to it. Seeing Yeshiqi take determined steps with the prosthesis, we felt the warmth technology can bring, a warmth that belongs not just to Yeshiqi but to everyone who has worked towards this goal.
The same warmth extended to Pipi, a dog that had its paw amputated due to a fracture and subsequent necrosis from drug resistance. To ensure Pipi could continue to move normally post-surgery, we created a 3D-printed half-prosthesis tailored for it. This prosthesis offers both strength and flexibility, ensuring Pipi’s comfort during use. Seeing Pipi happily playing at the exhibition was truly heartwarming.
